base.

Note:

If IIS is installed after the .Net

Frameworks was installed then ASP.NET

Starting lookserver

After successfully installing the pre
-
requisites and
look
server you will be able to start a
thin
client
session by pointin
g to :

http://localhost/lookserver

(this assumes that the default installation folder is chosen).

The SID file used when first starting
look
server will be newlook.sid located under :

C:
\
inetpub
\
wwwroot
\
lookse
rver

The SID file contains a startup macro that will present a welcome page that allows the user to enter
their host IP address (and port number) in order to connect to their system.

Accessing

the lookserver settings program

After successfully installing

look
server you may view and modify its settings (equivalent to the
settings tool available within the
new
look windows client).

The settings can be accessed via the following URL (assuming the default installation folder ) :

http://localhost/lookserver/settings.aspx

Note :

thin
client or
mobile
client users will not be able to modify the settings unless the IIS
administrator has granted the
ASPNET

user authority to modify
lookserver.config
. If this
security
access is not added then an error message will be shown.

To allow thin client users the ability to modify
look
server’s settings via the browser interface then
right
-
click on the
look
server.config file, select the Security Tab, click to add a new u
ser, choose the
local PC as the location of the user and then add ASPNET. Make sure ASPNET has at least Modify
authority to the file.

If you want to prevent users from being able to view
look
server’s settings you may rename or
delete settings.aspx.
