Signs Indicate a train wreck is coming unless you modernize IT.
CIOs are advised not to continue hiring more programmers to keep
old systems running, but rather, fund an IT modernization /
application overhaul program. The consequences of not modernizing
are increasing support costs and ultimately, the loss of IT and
business agility.
78 percent of respondents stated that “rapid changes in the
environment demanding a quick response” was the top business
pressure for legacy application modernization.
Modernization of custom and packaged applications is a top concern
for IT leaders. Having little to no transparency into two
-
thirds of IT
budgets is a top concern for Business Leaders

We introduced SOA incrementally to GSA FAS. We created a community who drove the
introduction of SOA Backplane capabilities, new enterprise processes, and governance
using a just

time approach. Once the initial groups succeeded using the SOA approach
created by the FASSOA COE Team, new opportunities were quickly realized. We now have
application groups coming to us to solve complex problems, sometimes in a matter of
hours, with tools included in our SOA Backplane.
