The management of farm animal genetic resources in the
Slovakia is coordinated by the Ministry of Agriculture in close
cooperati
on with Research Institute of Animal Production in
Nitra.


Activities from July 2000


August 2001




Data on breeds and strains have been collected for horse,
cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, poultry and rabbits are now available



Databank establisted for indiv
idual breeds



One meeting of the National Committee for the management
and conservation of genetic resources took place



During the past year, all activities of NCo were continued. The
included monitoring of the resources and analysis of
endargened status o
f different native breeds


Primary activities planned for the comming year




New edition of the Slovak database on horse, cattle, sheep,
pigs, goats, poultry and rabbits



Update the Slovakian data ab the EAAP
