FRONIUS GALVO

THE FUTURE
-
PROOF INVERTER FOR S
MALL
SELF
-
CONSUMPTION
SYSTEMS

The Fronius Galvo inverter uses innovative technologies to deliver a future
-
proof solution. It is a single
-
phase
electrically isolated inverter available in power categories from 1.5 to 3.1 kW (
1.5 kW, 2 kW, 2.5 kW, 3.0 kW and 3.
1
kW
). By specifically targeting the lower power categories, it allows a high proportion of self
-
consumption: in
other words, as much of the energy generated as possible is consumed at source. The built
-
in energy
management relay enables consumers (heat pu
mp, boiler, etc.) to be controlled; self
-
consumption is further
improved and energy costs reduced.

It offers great configuration flexibility, which makes it ideal for private homes and small PV systems. An
integrated energy management function makes it pa
rticularly suitable for self
-
consumption systems. It will be
possible to use this device all over the world.

The future
-
proof inverter

Plug
-
in card technology allows functions to be retrofitted at a later date. This means that future upgrades can be
carried out quickly and easily. The Fronius Galvo offers static and dynamic grid backup through reactive power
provision even in low power ca
tegories. Here too, Fronius delivers quality beyond the required standards, since
reactive power provision is not currently stipulated for inverters in these power categories. The inverter also
supports third
-
party interfaces, thus allowing connection with

home automation systems, and is compatible with
remote monitoring systems.

WLAN function ensures high flexibility

The Fronius Galvo and Fronius Symo inverters are amongst the first to offer a built
-
in
WLAN

interface as
standard. If no cable is to be inst
alled or if cable installation is not possible, then the system data can be
downloaded via WLAN using a smartphone (Fronius Solar.web app) or a PC (Fronius Solar.web).

Simultaneous updating of multiple inverters

The Fronius Galvo will in future feature a
BUS master function
.

This will allow multiple inverters to be updated
simultaneously. In addition, one inverter can log the data of all the other inverters.

Fronius inverters are Smart Grid
-
compatible

Firstly, this means that Fronius inverters boast built
-
in smart functions, called Advanced Grid Features (AGF).
These involve various control functions for reactive power and effective power. The aim is to be able to
integrate more PV systems into the grid. Secondly, voltage
-
dependent power manipulation in p
eriods of grid
overload should prevent the inverter from switching off. This relieves the load on the grid and, at the same time,
safeguards the yield.

In addition to the functions of the inverter itself, the option of integration in a Smart Grid means t
hat the inverters
are not only integrated in the grid but also in the information infrastructure of the future. Fronius inverters
provide the necessary interfaces required for integration in the Smart Grid and enable remote configuration of
all smart funct
ions to ensure optimal operation in a future with a large number of PV systems.

This means that Fronius inverters already satisfy the requirements that will be placed on PV systems in the
future.

Innovative hinged system

Innovative product features such

as the hinged system make installation and servicing easy, thereby keeping
installation and operating costs down. The DC disconnector in the connection area makes the Fronius Galvo
one of the most user
-
friendly and safest inverters on the market.

Produc
tion is due to start in July 2013

The Fronius Galvo inverter is particularly suitable for self
-
consumption
systems thanks to its low power categories and integrated energy
management function.

Innovative product features, such as the hinged system, make installation and
servicing of the Fronius Galvo inverter very simple and cost
-
effective.
