You will be turning the entire project folder into the

CLASS DROP folder when you are

Introduction:

If you have $1000 in a bank account, and that account has an interest rate of 3% per year,
your account will have $1,030 at the end of the year.

Here’s how I got $1,030: ($1,00
0 + ($1,000 * .03)) = $1,030

You leave that $1,030 in the bank for another year. At the end of Year 2 your bank
account has $1,060.90.

Here’s how I got $1,060.90: ($1,030 + ($1,030 * .03)) = $1,060.90

$1,000 is known as the
Present Valu
e
. $1,060.90 is the
Future Value

at the end of Year
2. The Future Value takes into account the
compounding

of
interest
over time.

How can you find the Future Value of $1,000 for Year 89? A
-
ha! There is a very simpl
e

equation you can use to find the Fu
ture Value:

Future Value = Present Value * (1 + Interest Rate) ^ Number of Years
