Abstract:In this paper, a simplified transient flow model of branch

built. Through this model, the analytical solutions of the model with given
pressure boundary conditions are obtained and the mass flow in branch pipeline point
are calculated. Also, the influence of simulated leakage in branch pipeline on
pipeline networ
k running characteristics is analyzed. Finally, the results indicate
that the influence of small leakage on the pressure of endpoints of both main pipeline
and branch pipeline is small; the influence of gross leakage on the pressure of
endpoints of main pi
peline is also small but such influence is obvious towards branch

Abstract:Permeability of the fabric is an important indicator for the clothing
comfort. The raw materials, yarn count tightness, texture, thickness, and density
will have some impacts o
n the permeability of the fabric. The present paper is
primarily concerned with the fabric structure parameters of 10 commonly used in pure
cotton fabrics. Some tests were made, including the basic properties such as yarns
type, yarn count, thickness, tigh
tness, per gram of square meters, water vapor
permeability of the fabric and so on. The study shows that the texture, weft
-
tightness,
overall tightness, square meters gram, thickness have significant effects on the
permeability of fabric with the same mate
rials. As for the lighter fabric, the
breathable performance increases with larger pores. It is vey important to choose
the appropriate structure parameters in fabrics designing for desired clothing
comfort. &copy; 2010 IEEE.

Ab
stract:The automatic fit of the experimental variogram is a difficult problem of
geostatistics. In order to solve the fitting problem, an improved linear programming
method is presented in this paper. In combination with the advantages of weighted
polynomi
al method and linear programming method, the new method uses the inverse of
lag distance as weight coefficient. We can rationally estimate the parameters of a
spherical model by this method. For illustration, an example is utilized to show the
feasibility
of the improved method in solving the fitting problem. Empirical results
show that the fittd curve of spherical theoretical model, which is obtained by this
method, is more representative of the experimental variogram values. The improved
linear programmin
g method can effectively solve the automatic fitting problem of the
experimental variogram, and a uniform and objective estimation of optimal parameters
will be obtained by this method. &copy; 2010 IEEE.

underlying software implementation. Model Driven Engineering (MDE) is one of the
enabling techniques that supp
ort this objective. One of the important parts in this
process is the creation of Platform Independent Model (PIM). There are several
approaches on this matter. However there is still the absence of clear documentation
on the methods especially when the pu
rpose is aimed for generic PIMs in a specific
domain. This article introduces an approach to developing PIMs by using UML, OCL and
promotes agility by applying agile modeling for this purpose. A practical example

Abst
ract:Variational data assimilation system combines the useful observation
information and model dynamic constraint and improves the optimal analysis using
adjoint method in order to provide correct and high quality initial conditions for
the meteorological

numerical weather prediction model. The observation error is
assumed Gaussian in traditional variational assimilation method. While the gross
error is inevitable in the actual observation data, which is not strictly agreed the
hypothesis of Gaussian obser
vation error. The observational term of cost function
need to be modified by the variational quality control to deal with the non
-
Gaussian
observation error, and the variational quality control is incorporated within the
variational analysis itself. The va
riational quality control technique was
implemented in the pre
-
operational global four dimension data assimilation system
in this paper. Assimilation and forecast experiments were carried out with the
conventional observation data. It was demonstrated that

the variational quality
control guaranteed the fully consistence of background and model dynamic to
ameliorate the analysis results and improve the forecasting skill. &copy; 2010 IEEE.

Abstract:A modeling and simulati
on method for trampoline movement based on sport
biomechanics was developed. Taking tuck jump as example, the entire movement phase
was divided into four parts: taking off from bending the knees, airborne, posturing
and landing. Then the formulas were gene
rated for modelling. Finally, simulation
experiment was done with these formulas. The simulation results showed that this
method is effective in trampoline movement research. &copy; 2010 IEEE.

Abstract:Radial distributions of turbulent kinetic energy k in the tank with
different geometrical jet flows was predicted based on CFD method adopted RNG k
-

&Epsilon; turbulent model. Some detailed information about turbulen
ce kinetic energy
and pressure was obtained. The results showed that at the plane of z=0, pressure did
not change significantly and the value was small. With the increase of the distance
x, the turbulent kinetic energy enlarged first and then reduced. Turb
ulent kinetic
energy was suddenly reduced above the jet height at x=0. Under the same velocity and
the nozzle clearance, the turbulent kinetic energy of flat
-
bottom was the smallest,
and the turbulent kinetic energy of hemispherical
-
bottom was the largest
. Under the
same velocity, the pressure of hemispherical
-
bottom was the largest, wherever the
pressure of flat
-
bottom was the smallest. The results can be theoretical basis for
the optimum design and scale

Abstract:Visual tracking using Mean Shift is

famous and popular. But the traditional
Mean Shift tracking algorithm cannot track an object which changes its scale and
orientation during the process of tracking. A novel tracking algorithm based on Mean
Shift and on

line feature selection is proposed i
n this paper. Target object is
defined in a 4

D state space which can deal with its positon, scale and orentation.
A maximium of 28 feature space is created based on the color value of pixels in R,
G, B channels. During the tracking, the best feature space

is selected which can
distinguish objects and background scenes most. Kalman filter is used to estimate
the state of the object during the tracking. Experiment results show the advantages
of the proposed algorithm. &copy; 2010 IEEE.

Abstract:Low Plasticity Burnishing (LPB), a mechanical surface enhancement
technology was developed to produce a deep layer of highly compressive residual stress
comparable to laser shot peening, but with minimal cold
-
work hardening,

LPB produces
the most thermally stable compression to hot sections of gas turbine engines made
by superalloy like Inconel 718. Literatures detailing the experimental effects of
LPB are comprehensive, however, there is still a special need for a reliable F
inite
Element (FE) calculation to provide a fundamental understanding of LPB mechanism.
The paper establishes a three
-
dimensional non
-
linear FE model, where the flow stress
is taken as a function of strain, strain rate and temperature, and the Zienkiewics
-
Zhu
adaptive plastic strain remeshing method is used. Calculated results show that LPB
can produce the maximum compressive residual stress about 1000 MPa to a depth more
than 1.6 mm, but the cold
-
work hardening can be controlled to less than 2.5%, the
pred
icted results is validated by the experimental data obtained by X

ray diffraction
