Configuration Requirements





1. Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 or 6.0.


To verify what version of Internet Explorer you are currently using, while in Internet
Explorer, select

If Version 5.5 or 6.0, this PC meets the version requirement for Web ECAT. If

NOT version 5.5 or 6.0 must be i
nstalled on this PC. Select
OK

to EXIT.













Note: This process will have to be repeated for each PC in order to run Web ECAT. If using
Microsoft

Internet Explorer other than 5.5 or 6.0 you mu
st upgrade to either IE 55 or 6.0

Accessing Web ECAT



1.

To gain access to Web ECAT,

go to your sponsoring dealers website and click on the
fleet Web ECAT link. At the login prompt, e
nter your userid and password,
then

select
OK
.

Web ECAT Printer/Image Control Install


These features require a new printer/image control to be installed on each PC that will require a change in
Internet Explorer Securit
y.


Complete the following process.


1. At Microsoft Internet Explore 5.5 or 6.0 select

Internet Options.

Open Web ECAT, select browser
Refresh
button, then select
Catalog Search
, and select any
catalog from the list and then d
rill down to any catalog page containing an image. Displaying
the catalog page will start the ECAT image controls install.


NOTE: This may take several minutes to complete (first time only).

ServiceNet, Acrobat Reader has already been installed on your PC. However, if you do not have Acrobat

New Web ECAT User Introduction


PACCAR

Inc. would like to welcome you to the next generation of Electronic Catalog,
Web ECAT. Web ECAT offers you all of the information that you have come to expect
from your CD based ECAT without the hassle and upkeep associated with installing new
CD sets.
Web ECAT provides the following benefits to all dealers:




The ongoing cost of increased data storage associated with ECAT will be gone.



The cost to maintain ECAT will be reduced:



No more monthly CD installation all updated chassis information will be
added

to the web servers on a weekly basis.



Quarterly installation of new applications and features will be done
automatically.



Backup of Customer Lists and Pick Lists can now be done online, no more
lost customer databases!



Web ECAT provides better integration

with existing web applications such as Smart
Search.



Pre


1988 chassis will be added to Web ECAT during the first half of 2001.




Requirements


Web ECAT does require the following:




Each user of Web ECAT will be required to have a PACCAR
Dealer
Net user
ID.
Multiple users that use the same user ID can cause fatal errors to occur in the

PC Equ
ipment and Network bandwidth make a difference in Web ECAT
performance. Dealers with a 128Kb connection to PACCAR and Pentium III PCs
with 64Mb of RAM have received excellent response times.



Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 or 6.0 is required. Web ECAT w
ill not function
without the proper browser software.
