Client Provisioning and Configuration

3.1

Mobile device workstations

Mobile Device Workstation

Configuration

Description

AssetTrack Mobile is the client program that runs on Windows Mobile devices.
For field personnel
who will be using
AssetTrack Mobile for data collection, they must provide network connectivity for the
mobile device so that it can u
pload and download application
-
related data (assets, products,
employees, etc). The typical way to provide this connectivity is USB connecti
on to a desktop/laptop
workstation th
at is connected to the network.

Typically, an end
-
user’s existing workstation is adequate
to serve as a mobile device workstation.

Wireless
-
enabled mobile devices do not require a workstation.

3.2

AssetTrack Console workstations

AssetTrack Console Workstation

Configuration

Description

AssetTrack application administrators who customize AssetTrack for their business needs and asset
managers who review collected data must run AssetTrack Console, a
Windows desktop application.

Typically, the asset manager’s existing workstation is already

adequate for running the Console if it’s a
modern workstation.
