Physics Lesson Plan, Week 6.3

Monday

-

Wednes
day
:

Objective:

Students will
take Cornell notes over magnetism in order to be able to identify the polarity
of magnets, the properties of electromagnetic fields, and the way these fields interact.

Materials:

Ch 24 Notes, Chapter 24 Practice #1, Chapter 24 Practice #2

Plan:

When s
tudents enter,
they will first get ready to take some not
es. After going over chapter 24

notes, several sample problems involving
magnetism and the right hand rules will be discus
sed
.
Students will then complete the remainder of the
Chapter 24 practice
worksheet.

Further examples will
then be addressed over these and practice calculations. Students will then finish the remainder of the
Chapter 24 Practice #2 worksheet with guide
d practice.

Thursday

Friday
:

Objective:

Students will
complete a lab in order to observe the
behavior of magnetic fields and the
properties of these fields

Materials:

Magnetic Field Lines Lab

Plan:

When students enter,
they will have a
brief prelab
. After discussing the prelab and explaining the
lab, students will then complete it
by drawing the magnetic field lines existing around a magnet
. They
will answer the CBD at the end of the lab.
If time remains, students may then use two magnets to draw

the magnetic field lines of magnets affecting one another.
