Current Course Information in Catalog:

Course Prefix & Number:
CS 4545

Course Title:
Applied Cryptography

Credit Hours:
3

Prerequisites:
CS 4500

Course Description:
This course is an introduction to cryptography and
its applications.
While this course will touch on the mathematics involved in cryptography, the focus of
the course will be on its application. Thus, the course emphasizes the upper layers of
cryptosystems (i.e. key management and system usage) rather than

the internals of
encryption algorithms.

CS 3401 or ISA 3010

III. Justification for Change
