In order to use SYNC
®

with Voice
-
Activated Navigation, it’s important to know
where your vehicle's controls are and how to interact with them.

Please note,

features may vary based on your vehicle’s configuration.




Voice
:
Depending on your vehicle's year and model, the
Voice

control is labeled with
either the word or an icon.

Voice

activates Voice Recognition, which lets you give a
command or interrupt
SYNC.


Media
:
Depending on your vehicle’s year and model, the
Media

control is labeled with
either a word or letter (Mode, Media, Menu, M) or an icon (music note).

Media

selects the
media source (i.e. AM/FM radio, CD player, or other media device).


Seek
:
Depending on your vehicle’s year and model, the
Seek

control is labeled with either a
four
-
way arrow or a right and left double arrow.

Seek
moves through the menu choices.


Volume
: Depending on your vehicle’s year and model, the
Volume

control is labeled with
either the word or an icon with plus (+) and minus (

) symbols.
Volume

controls audio
volume.


Phone
:
Depending on your vehicle’s year and model, the
Phone

control is labeled with
either the word or an icon (may include a single or
double arrow).
Phone

activates the
phone menu, accepts incoming calls, or ends a call.


Ok:

Depending on your vehicle’s year and model, the
OK

control is labeled with either the
word or an icon.

OK

confirms your selections.





Home:

Home

displays options
to save/view favorite pictures, view your current audio and
climate control settings, as well as display the audio visualizer or hybrid fuel economy (if
equipped). You can split the screen into two or three different sections, or you can choose
to have a s
ingle view.


Phone:

Phone

allows you to access phone settings such as adding a Bluetooth
®
-
enabled
phone, select from various ring tones, turn message notification on/off, modify phone book
entries, and auto download your phone book


Media:
displays options to select media sources (USB, BT stereo, or auxiliary input jack),
and play preferences such as shuffle, repeat, and autoplay. You can also access the 10GB
jukebox, Music Library, or a Bluetooth
®
-
discoverable media player, which organizes
and
sorts your indexed media by metadata tags. SYNC supports the following metadata tags:
artist, album, genre, and track.


Information:
displays options to select features such as Where am I, HEV (hybrid screen
information, if equipped), SiriusXM Travel L
ink (if activated), Calendar, System Information,
and Help.


Sound:
displays options to adjust settings such as bass, treble, fade, balance, Digital
Signal Processing (DSP), Speed Compensated Volume (SCV), and the visualizer.


Destination
:

displays options

to “Quick” selections (available while the vehicle is in
motion), such as your preset favorites, “Standard” resources to set a destination (such as
street address, points of interest, etc.), and “Edit Route” to set preferences for your current
navigation
route.


Navigation:

displays options to select navigation features such as map, route, and traffic
preferences.


Climate:

displays options to adjust certain climate control features such as air flow
direction or increase/decrease temperature.


Status bars:


Your screen may also have:

Top

Status

Bar

displays your current mode,
the exterior temperature, and time. It also displays icons if you have enabled Bluetooth
®
,
among other options.

Bottom

Status

Bar

displays the Home icon, current temperature for
the
driver and passenger, fan speed, and air flow direction. It also displays the artist and
title of the currently playing CD (if available), artist and title for Jukebox (if available), and
satellite radio (if activated).








USB

port

provides input for USB supported media playing devices and flash drives
containing SYNC software updates, or your own entertainment selections and photos.
These ports also charge USB supported devices.

Auxiliary

input

jack

provides input for older portable

media devices that only have a
headphone jack. You need to use a special aux
-
in cable and won’t be able to use voice
commands and other hands
-
free features of SYNC.
