Installing the client

Hardware prerequisites



Processor: Pentium III Compatible or higher 500
MHz

on the computer where you plan to install the applic
ation. In order for the POS to operate,

the POS application you must run this
installation. This file will extract the installation files on to a temporary folder and run the
installation program from there automatically. The procedure should be

as follows:




Double click the file LS

Update service

3.1

Installation procedure



Prior to installing the update service, plese

refer to section
2.1.2

Software
prerequisites

and confirm that it has been met.



Open the folder
Update service
and double click the file
Setup.exe
. The setup
program will initialize.



Press
Next

to initialize the installation.



Press
Next
to accept the installation folder.

Make sure that the installation folder is
the same as the folder you installed the LS Pos.NET.



Press
Next
to start the installation.



When prompted, press
Close
to complete the installation.



Reboot the computer

3.2

Starting the service

When the installation has finished the service is set to automatically start up when the
computer is booted. Therefor there are two ways of starting it.

Getting started

4.1

Starting the P
os



At system startup, the Pos application will start automatically. For the Pos application
to start using demonstartion data, an icon
(LS POS .NET DEMO)
on the desktop can
be do
uble clicked.





Should the SQL Server Express 2005 need to be installed, that procedure will be
done at this point. This may take a few minutes but the Pos will start when it finishes.

Version details

This version contains
the following
mi
nor modifications and bug fixes:


1.

The POS now comes with a demo licence that works for 30 days. After that period of
time, the operator will be unable to log on

to the POS. To activate a full licence, a
Volume no, that appears on the login window has to be provided to Landsteinar
Strengur in order to get a new licence file.



2.

The database
LSPOSNET
is now automatically created with demo data, if the
database does

not exist.


3.

The POS can now be run with the
parameter

TR
, and by doing so, every translated
text will appear with the corresponding text ID in front of the text. This makes it easier
for the service personell to track down texts.


4.

Now a list can be prin
ted with all customer wit
h outstanding dept to the store:

Right

click some button, go to button properties, and select the operation
"CustomerBalanceReport"

-

Press the button and a report is printed.



5.

A selected customer's balance and/or credit limit c
an now be viewed.

From the customer panel, choose a customer.

Along with the customer's details, this information is now displayed.

If it is not displayed, right click the customer panel and go into customization, and
drag'n'drop the fields onto the
panel.

A selected customer's individual transaction can now be viewed and/or printed.

From the customer panel, choose a customer.

-

A button is now displayed below the "Clear" button, with the caption "Transactions".
Pressing that button will list the

transactions being made to this customer.

-

From the list window, each of the transactions can be printed by pressing the "Print"
button.

A selected customer's transaction list for a specific time period can now be printed.

to button properties, and select the operation
"CustomerTransactionsReport"

Select a customer from the customer panel.

Press the button, and a dialog with some time periods must be selected, and the report
is printed.

A customer can now be created/mo
dified.

"CustomerAdd"

Press the button to view the create dialog.

Type in the the customer's details and press "Close" when finished.


9.

The pos can now be minimized at any ti
me in the transaction.

click some button, go to button properties, and select the operation
"MinimizePOSWindow"

Press the button and the pos will be minimized.


10.

Cash management functionality has now been implemented to put cash into the POS.

Click the button to view the cash window.

Type in some amount and optionally type in some description.

A new transaction will be created, of the type FloatEntry
Transaction, the amount
specified will be in the field "GrossAmount" (positive), and the description will be in a new
field called "Description"

Cash removeal functionality has now been implemented to take cash out of the POS.

"TenderRemoval"

Type in some amount and optionally type in some description.

A new transaction will be created, of the type RemoveTender, the amount specified will
be in the field "GrossAmount" (negati
ve), and the description will be in a new field called
"Description"
