have become more and more popular.

After the FCC’s
allocation of 300 MHz of bandwidth in the 5GHz frequency band for the UNII, high data
rate WLAN

become important for mobile computing devices. In order to meet the
potentially high demand for such WLAN products, low cost silicon based radio
transceiver front ends are essential.

The aim of this project is the design and implementation of a receiver for such an
application

in a single IC
, including

ow noise amplifier, mixer
, frequency synthesizer

and etc
.

to be implemented in a

0.35 um CMOS process

technology
.


As w
e know, W
LAN

IC
system

require receiver architectures with wide dynamic
range.
So it’s a challenge to design a high bandwidth front
-
end

IC using
CMOS process

technology

while meeting all the
tough requirements in t
he application of wireless
communication. We will use the HP ADS software to do
our
design
work
. After
finishing
the work of
layout design, the IC will be sent to MOSIS to manufacture.
