are in suspense due to duplicate records). ISIR files provided to an institution by the Dept. of Education
contain all students who listed that institution regard
less of whether the student’s admission status or
whether the student applied for admission.

Release 8:
Financial Aid and Student Preparation for Registration (Target go

live: March 1, 2010)

Cashiering Hardware I
-
SF
-
01

Susan Anderson is no longer working on this; Shelly will be assigning it to
another developer. At this time the Bursar offices are giving
hand written receipts to the students. They
are also endorsing the checks with a rubber stamp and then writing the transaction information on the
back of the check.

Processing Credit Cards in Cashiering I
-
SF
-
03

We’ve successfully made a credit card payment through
NelNet. This is now ready for functional testing by the team.

Chartfield Load and Combo Edit I
-
SF
-
15

This is in CSPROD, Linda will work with Productio
n services to
get it setup in UC4.

The daily incremental loads for transfer credit have not been running for the past week due to a known
issue with the load program. Some transfer credit models are being built in ISIS manually in order to
support summer

Orientation activities. The conversion team is working on a fix and hopes to have the
incremental load back in production by late next week at which time there may be a large “catch up” file
for the campus staff to process.

Academic standing load testing

to be finalized
.

More failures with the SR incremental conversion stream, we are monitoring issues and restarting load
programs.

that need to occur over the next 10 months.

Student Records has 37 active extensions in the production environment. Bun
dle 17 was applied to these
extensions in DEV and several were broken. GSD and the DBAs continue to resolve these issues. These
extensions will require regression testing in all instances as the bundle progresses. This will require
several hour
s from the

SR team members.

The COF interface continues to be delayed due to a new identified bug. The interface is expected to be in
the production environment prior by mid June.

We only have one known bug against waitlisting remaining in PROD. This bug fix h
as been moved to PREP
and we are planning to move the fix into PROD on Tuesday if final testing is successful.

Release
9.1/9.2

Graduation Processing, Financial Aid DL Processing, and Degree Audit and
Transfer Credit/ISIS Interface (Target go
-
live: May
/June

2010)

The portal team is focused on two major releases next week, both of which are driven by the deadline of
6/10, B
oulder's first orientation:

o

The first is for the schedule & grades framework pagelet. This will allow students to see their
schedules from the student tab, view campus maps attached to each class location, and peruse a
printer
-
friendly display format. This

is currently in SIT testing. We are aiming to migrate on
Tuesday night, 6/8.

o

The other release is of a method to make class search available to the general public. We're
working with Carolyn to set up a public user on Campus Solutions who can see the class search
component. When this is set up, it'll be reachable from any web page.

This change is also being
tested in SIT, with a change date goal of 6/8.

The
ISIS/DARS degree audit
s

were exposed to end
-
users on Tuesday, June 1
st

via all seven of the staff and
student portals. Over 4,000 degree audit requests were made via DARSweb fr
om Tuesday, June 1st
through Sunday, June 6th. As expected, the transition to a new degree audit interface was not seamless.
The changes in student record data source for the interface and the new business process for CU
-
to
-
CU
courses have resulted in so
me functional issues that are being identified, prioritized and addressed.
Issues with the interface have been reported to GSD and the conversion team is researching some items
including the terms in which there are not class subtitles for CU Study Abroad

courses. Estimated time of
completion of these items is unknown at this time.

Release 10: Student Financials (Target go

Cedar Crestone Admission Application Project

o

Last week the team met with representatives from Document Imaging. The team was trained on how
to create documents on the Mass Access

server. This is a critical integration with the new Admission
Application. We were successful in creating many documents and we have a successful test of the
integration.

o

Kristi from Cedar Crestone is in town this week to work with the team on the fir
st solid week of
thorough testing.

o

All test application fee accounts should be set up on Nelnet and the integration should be working
this week for our testing.

o

A critical piece of prospect card and application is the redo of provisioning. This has to

happen prior
to July 1
st
.

Batch provisioning, conversion of already provisioned prospects, and new provisioning using
the New User Registration must be developed prior to a July 1
st

Go live of the application
which relies on the New User Registration pr
ocess.

Meeting took place with Jason Armbruster, Kari, Keith Laird, Carolyn Landa, Alan Vidmar,
and Ryan Chreist to discuss the provisioning changes. A plan to address this issue was
discussed but resources have not been allocated.

If these changes are
not in place by July 1
st
, the application GoLive will be delayed.

o

BPEL Worklist

A key part of the Cedar Crestone product is error handling and Search/Match suspension
managed through the BPEL worklist. The BPEL worklist requires that accounts be set up f
or
each person using the worklist. Unfortunately, there is not any documentation on how to
integrate the accounts with an active directory to avoid maintenance of those accounts.
Tyler submitted a case with Oracle on this but has not heard back. Tyler h
as to setup all the
accounts manually for the users and there is concern about him being responsible for
resetting passwords etc…

o

Move to Production

In order to meet our July 1
st

GoLive it is critical that the movement of things to Production
start ASAP.
Tyler from UIS is heading up the effort to get installations of the Cedar
Application on the SOA PROD server. In addition, the team is going to start moving their
configuration in CS to PROD. Cedar Crestone will copy the application database as soon as
w
e are ready.

There is an issue getting the new instances up and going. We are delayed due to
some lack of information from Cedar Crestone. CU needs to get the Continuing
Education instances up and running in DEV as a trial run and then install the PROD
v
ersion for degree admissions. We are behind in getting this process moving.

Cedar Crestone Prospect Card Project

o

An initial functional specification has been submitted to Cedar Crestone. It consists of three phases.
The goal is to have the first phase i
n before the cycle begins in earnest in August/September
. The
second and third phases can come after the first but prior to November.

They are going to review the spec this week and provide estimates on the work involved,
dates to production, etc…

The spe
c will be reviewed with the application team this week for more feedback prior to
final submission.

o

A critical piece of prospect card and application is the redo of provisioning. This has to happen prior
to July 1
st
.

Batch provisioning, conversion of
already provisioned prospects, and new provisioning using
the New User Registration must be developed prior to a July 1

which relies on the New User Registration process.

CRM 9.1

o

CRSIT environment is up and running and Scott ha
s been doing a bunch of work there this week.

However, the Virtual IPs are not setup yet so other team members won’t be able to get in unless you
using UIS VPN.

This should get resolved before Tuesday so we can all get into that environment.

o

Scott began
testing the FULLSYNC to load all of the PERSON data into CRSIT from CSSIT.

This has not
gone without issues and I am still working on this as we speak. I have about 200,000 out of 1.5 million
records synched up so far and working slowly through the rest.

We did not expect the first round of
testing to go flawlessly so we are not concerned at this point.

o

Scott was able to resolve a couple of the issues we discovered with the Prospect Profiles we
discovered last week.

This includes:

The inability to use Cl
ass Rank, Class Size, GPA, etc in our audiences.

We developed a
workaround for this until PeopleSoft resolves the root cause.

This is logged with oracle as a
Priority 1 issue, but will not be resolved in time for us to move forward next week so we
have b
een working on it on our own.

SubPlan was not in the CS
-
Constituent profile as delivered from PeopleSoft.

Scott built a
completely custom profile now which includes this field for use.

More thorough testing on these items will begin on Monday.

o

The issues

with the DES Server are still being worked out.

We have a partial fix that will at least allow
us to build some initial dialogs and documents.

We have requested that those fixes be migrated to
CRDEV and CRSIT as soon as possible so that we can begin end
-
to
-
end testing.

Party Application Loads (Professional School Applications)

o

Technical

A technical resource has been identified to work on developing a load process using the
Component Interfaces. A kickoff meeting is schedu
led for Monday.

o

Functional

We have a tool that has been provided by our consultant. It will require some tweaking but
it is a good start and is fairly simple for functional users to understand.

A training session has been scheduled with AMCAS for this wee
k. Only their technical
resource has agreed to attend at this point.

Campus Community

The Selective Service interface (I
-
CC
-

An interface to upload campus photos for rosters (I
-
CC
-

ed for development.

A Housing interface is required that will provide photos and dormitory addresses.

Selective service online form is in progress.

Adding it as a checklist item seems effective if we can
overcome problem of not being able to include

We are targeting 7/10 for loading the
Legal Presence conversion

into PROD. We’re looking at putting it
in PROD on 7/1.extract/load is written .

The
External IDs

conversion is ready t
o be validated. Carol Mash will do the validation. This is targeted to
be in CONV2 on 7/1, but we want to put it in PROD as late as possible and still be ready for transcript
processing.

We also need to schedule and validate the
Relationships conversion
.

Wardenburg Student Health Center staff have requested additions to the
translate table for
Immunization Status

(CC>Personal Information>Health Information>Immunizations and
Health>Immunization (tab)>Immunization Status (drop
-
down) to include: Age Exempt a
nd Incomplete. If
possible they would like to remove Partial and Unknown from the same table.

Also, they have requested the addition of values to the Test Result translate table (CC>Personal
Information>Health Information>Immunizations and Health>Health
Test (tab)> Test Result (drop
-
down)
to include: Equivocal, Normal, and Abnormal. If possible they would like to remove: Neutral from same
table. This appears to be achievable via configuration.

Sally and Carol A. are working with the campuses to do some
record clean up ahead of orientation
students attempting to register, etc.

Art has been working on the
disability services mod
. Margie will become the owner. Configuration still
needs to be done. We’re still trying to acquire full buy
-
in on tracking fro
m the disabilities offices. Art will
provide some training/background.

We are working with Bob Hassenhundl to establish requirements for the announcement channel in the
main portal.

Data Warehouse

The business analyst consultant, Nischal Dangol, is working on finding CIW/ISIS source data for nine
reports that the Boulder Registrar’s office needs to produce.

The Registrar’s office produ
ced a much
longer list of needed reports that we have asked them to prioritize.

When prioritization is complete we
will ensure that Nischal focuses his efforts on the most important near term reporting needs.

A meeting
has been scheduled to interact with

principal report writers at Colorado Springs this Wednesday.

He is
available to meet, on request, with any Cognos report writers who are interested in assistance turning any
well developed list of source data needs in any frame of reference into a list o
f appropriate sources in the
new CIW/ISIS warehouse structures.

A meeting with the Denver Registrar’s office was canceled because of the loss of a key report writing
resource.

This person was in a student position and the registrar’s office was attempti
ng to move them
into a full time backfill position, but the student elected to transfer elsewhere.

The Registrar’s office will
attempt to find a new candidate for the backfill position, but this will take time.

They seem reluctant to
meet with the consul
tant business analyst until they have a person to fill this critical report writing role.

CIW/FIN [financials] has been suffering from morning unavailability missing SLA targets.

CIW/ISIS data
was not updated on Thursday to see whether it was a significan
t contributor to the problems experienced
for CIW/FIN.

From one night’s test, that appears not to be the case.

However, correcting the problem for
CIW/FIN has drawn resources in IRM away from their normal level supporting CIW/ISIS work.

Degree Audit and

Transfer Articulation System

It is unclear how the change in provisioning process, required for the new admissions application, will
impact the CEMLI that exposes the DARSweb transfer credit evaluation to admitted CUDEN and CUBLD
students in the recruitme
nt portal. Another solution to expose the transfer credit evaluation to these
students may be required as a result of this change.

Document Management

No new updates.

Financial Aid

June will be marked by Oracle updates and bundles. We have one update

for Pell that is in PROD but will
need to be reapplied with CS Bundle 17. There is another update for Loan Processing that was released in
late May. That one will also need to be applied along with CS Bundle 17. GSD is being asked to work on
the analysis
as it involves some record changes, but the impact should be limited to FA. There has been a
request from the PM team to evaluate whether CS Bundle 17 can be delayed until after the 7/1 R10
release. That analysis is ongoing.

It was determined last week tha
t some students who should see the FA Pagelet in the portal are not.
Apparently permanent residents are getting excluding from seeing the pagelet because of code that is
meant to only exclude foreign students. Analysis and work are proceeding to determine
how to correct
this.

Donna Sewell and Susan Youtz are working on the E
-
FA
-
42 Work Study extension and are on track to have
it move to production for a 7/1/10 release. Per Donna’s request, we will pursue having some of the low
-
risk, low
-
priority development

items taken on by other developers.

The FA Team is in the ongoing stage of refining business processes, handing over tasks to staff, and
troubleshooting issues. We’ve been working on student issues reported via the Service Desk, analyzing
issues where res
trictions in PROD are inhibiting business process queries, differences in who is able to run
some queries successfully to completion and who cannot,
and
understanding the security in place around
the Student Services Center (AdminVw
).

With respect to the b
ullet above, the FA Team is currently addressing these issues: FA Term processing
(career changes, impacts on level and ACG/SMART awards largely due to transfer credit terms), testing
the change of EMPLIDs to match SIS SIDs, SETID vs. INST issue for SAP, S
F interface with Campus Partners,
and announcement attributes.

Now that we have experience with our process flows for ISIR loads, checklist assignment, and
communications, FA offices are working on automating this batch stream (or parts of it) with UC4. We

will
have initial jobs running
this month
.

FA has approval to bring Meagan back for up to 4 weeks and has a provisional hold on her time. We have
asked to adjust those dates to provide us with coverage during initial disbursements (first three weeks of
Au
gust) and census date processing.

Portal

The portal team has been dealing with an extra amount of legacy stuff this week: web payments breaking
due to a Nelnet change, and updating the DARS URLs in legacy portals.

Per Kari, we're aiming to update the portal to tools version 8.50 sometime this fall. I've set up a planning
meeting with Chris Rigsby to discuss how this will impact portal work.

We dealt with a production problem this week. Due to Boulder campus changin
g the cert on the
cucontent server, portal tabs disappeared or went all errory. The problem appeared at 4pm on Thursday
6/3, and was fixed by 5:30pm, when Boulder successfully reverted to the prior cert. The new cert was
successfully replaced at 3pm on Fri
day 6/4.

Security

No new updates.

Student Records

The first round of the side by side comparison of the CU Common Transcri
pt between SIS and ISIS
revealed
several issues/bugs. The student records team will be submitting a list of errors to GSD to
reso
lve how the information is being displayed on the ISIS transcript. In addition, the student records
team will be discussing with the Registrars impacts to student statistics due to configuration of grading
schemes. The offices will engage in several more

side by side compares over the coming months. The
transcript extensions will require much deeper testing prior to releasing into production.

The Student Records team is starting to have discussions with the project training coordinator around the
train
ing requirements for upcoming releases. Key areas that require training documentation and training
sessions: graduation processing, grading, transcripts, professional school extensions, and end of term
processing (i.e. dean’s list).
