Members present: Julie Bartley, Jackie
Fillingim
, Dawn McCord, Barbara McKenzie, and Cher
Hendricks


Cher reviewed the committee’s charge

and passed out folders to each committee member. T
his
contained a handout on the charge and a print out of the COE web site information on the
conceptual framework. She reviewed our charge
:


1.

To review the conceptual framework presentation and provide feedback to Barbara so she
could continue to make impro
vements on it

2.

To determine methods for education for UWG faculty, students, and P12 community
about the conceptual framework

3.

To assess faculty, student, and P12 community knowledge of the conceptual framework
and

4.

To solicit feedback from faculty, students,

and P12 community about the conceptual
framework.


Barbara explained the process she had used in creating the PowerPoint presentation on the
conceptual framework
. The information that was online on the COE’s web site was utilized and
the script written by

Cher for her training materials for supervising teachers which is located at:
http://coe.westga.edu/About/Assessment/Training/

and
http://coe.westga.edu/About/Assessment/STI/


. In addition she created a PowerPoint and added
photographs that were taken by herself, her
two
GRAS. Photographs were also utilized that were
online at the Public Relations web site and photos from Micro S
oft online.



Barbara handed out a copy of the slides of the rough draft of the PowerPoint presentation of the
Conceptual Framework to the committee members and then shared the presentation to get their
feedback on how to make improvements. The committee m
embers and Cher provided helpful
feedback. These

included the following

points
:




Move the mission statement slide forward one

slide,



Eliminate one of the two knowledge slides

(It was

listed two times)
,



Shorten the presentation by

eliminating the slides wit
h no audio
,



Add more photographs in the presentation demonstrating the arts (e.g., music) and
physical education
,



Add a slide that lists the three categories: know
ledge, skills, and dispositions,




Punctuation should be consist
ent throughout the presentatio
n. Add periods after
listing each descriptor statement.



Only list titles in the presentation that are descriptors in the conceptual framework.



Add audio to the blank slides or eliminate them from the presentation.


Jackie stated she could send Barbara phot
os from her school system to add to the presentation so
more photos of students interacting with teachers could be added to the presentation.

The next meeting the committee will review the revised presentation and start to address the rest
of the charges:

th

at 2:00 p.m.
