first login via the network login screen an

Create the Agresso Icon on desktop

Window XP



To create the
Agresso Icon on your desktop

if you have a Windows XP machine

complete the
following actions.



Please note that
this instruction

should only be carried out
if the Agresso support team
have confirmed that access has been granted
.



1.

Right click on the desk
top to display the required menu then select New followed by
Shortcut as shown in fig 2.0.1. This will then display the Create Shortcut dialogue
screen as shown in fig 2.0.2

The shortcut dialog box will be displayed as shown in fig 2.0.2

Enter the following

Type to location of the

box then click the Next button

Then click on the Icon to start Agresso if it is the first time Agresso has been used on
your PC the there will be number of install completed an example of the dialogue box

Once Agresso has finished installing its common files or if it existed on PC then the
logon screen will be displayed as shown in fig 2.0.6

then enter you user name, client =
1 and the password provided by the support team

then click on Login.

Create the Agresso Icon on desktop Window 7



To
create the Agresso Icon on your desktop complete the following actions.


Please note that this instruction should only be carried out if the Agresso support team have
confirmed that access has been granted.



1.

Right click on the desktop to display the requ
ired menu then select New followed by
Shortcut as shown in fig 3.0.1. This will then display the Create Shortcut dialogue
screen as shown in fig 3.0.2

If Agresso does not exist on the user PC then a number of installation will be
completed and

this is indicated by installation dialog boxes displaying the module being installed an example
of a dialog shown below in fig 3.0.5

With windows 7 there will be a number of Security

challenges with the title

Once Agresso has finished installing its common files or if it existed on PC then the

Pre
-

requisites for XP Installations


3.1

Check for administrators rights


Before starting these instructions please ensure that you have administrator access

rights to
install
on the PC
. To check if you have the correct rights click on
Start

then select
Control
Panel
and then

click on
User Account

.
C
h
eck if your user name is part of the group
Administrators.


If you do not have administrators rights then contact your
departmental IT support

for
assistance with the upgrade.



3.2

.Net Framework 2 Installed


The
Microsoft .Net Framework is required to be installed

on the PC before Agresso can be
install see below on how to check if the framework is already installed.



(a).
To check if the framework has been install
ed

click
Start

then
Control panel

then click
Add
/Remove programs

to display the dialog box

as shown in

How to get .Net framework 2 SP2


If the framework is not installed the link below will take you to a Microsoft page where the
required install program can be download from.
Please note that to install the framework will
require
administrator’s

rights.

Possible Error Messages




4.1

User does not have
administrator’s

rights.


If you have clicked on the
upgrade

program and the following dialog box is displayed

as
shown in F
ig
6.1.0

then you do not have administrator right
s

to the PC. Please contact
your
Departmental

IT R
epresentative

to ask them to give administrator
s

right. Once rights have
been granted then run the
upgrade

program again

as shown

in section 3.4
.

Microsoft .Net not installed



The new version of Agresso client requires the minimum of .net
Framework

is being installed the

To complete the process click
Close
then at the next screen click
OK

followed by the final
screen. Click
OK
to finish. Now all prerequisites are complete the upgrade can be installed.
Go to
Section 3.3

to start the process.
