Connecting to NorthStar-EMS via OpenVPN:
Locate the OpenVPN icon and/or start from system tray.
Right click on the tray icon seen above and select 'Connect' :

OpenVPN will then connect to the NorthStar-EMS network.
1.If you do not see the 'NorthStar-EMS is now connected' message in the system tray (example
below) please call the helpdesk.

Navigating Network Drives and Uploading Documents:
Now that you are connected to the network you should be able to navigate network shares. Your
agency's particular share should be mapped in 'My Computer' like the example below. If you do not see
your agency's network share please contact the helpdesk.

Double click and open up your agency's network share.
Here we will split our paper work into each month as seen in the example above. Select or create the

folder for which month you are depositing paperwork for.
Here you will transfer the .PDF files containing the daily paperwork. Paperwork should be labeled in
the following format : Month DD,YYYY.pdf
In order to upload your .pdf's simply drag and drop the file into the correct folder. You can also select
the file you wish to upload and right click>select Copy then navigate to the folder on the network share
you wish to deposit the file and right click>select Paste.

Confirm you have transferred the documents and close the window. Then find the OpenVPN tray icon,
right click> select disconnect.
