REIVAC
REIVAC is the French clinical network dedicated to vaccinology. REIVAC was
created in 2008 by three “plurithematic” (P) CICs
1
and a biotechnology (BT)
CIC. Those CICs have a particular interest in vaccinology and are experienced
in academic and industrial researches.
The REIVAC founder members are :

CIC P-001, Saint-Eloi University Hospital, Montpellier

CIC P-007, Bichat-Claude Bernard University Hospital, Paris

CIC P-501, Clermont-Ferrand University Hospital, Clermont-Ferrand

CIC BT505, Cochin Saint-Vincent de Paul University Hospital, Paris
The new REIVAC partners since 2009

CIC P-9301, Cardiology University Hospital, Lille

CIC EC-003, University Hospital, Saint-Etienne
All biomedical researches performed within REIVAC follow the Good Clinical
Practices (GCP) and regulations. In effect CICs within REIVAC have
agreements from French authorities to carry out clinical researches.
REIVAC is a reactive and efficient structure replying to its partners demand,
giving short term answers to projects submission.
REIVAC is sponsored by “GIP CeNGEPS”
2
and Inserm
3
.
1 – CIC Clinical Center of Investigation: public structure dedicated to clinical trials
(www.inserm.com)
2 – GIP CeNGEPS: Group of Public Interest from the National Management Trial Centre
for Health Products (www.cengeps.com)
3 – Inserm : National Institute of Health and Medical Research (www.inserm.com)
REIVAC mission
Promoting clinical research in Vaccinology :

To improve the attractiveness of France for the implementation of preventive
and therapeutic vaccine trials from pre-clinical to clinical phases (I to III)

To link up scientists and physicians, as well as industries and academic
institutions, in order to develop exploratory research.
REIVAC objectivs :

To improve, harmonise and facilitate the recruitment of volunteers and set
up the administrative tasks

To generate vaccine trials in France and the European Community

To allow evaluation of innovative concepts resulting from the
fundamental research in vaccinology and with design of newly
developed vaccines.

To set up a biobank for the REIVAC members.

Organisation

A unique negotiating partner: REIVAC Steering Committee

A centralized coordination: REIVAC Coordinating team

Facilitate financial and hospital agreements validation to improve the
reactivity with our partners
Scientific skills

Scientific, clinical and technical expertises in the vaccine field to
perform high standard clinical trials in compliance with GCP and the
local regulations

Promotion of new concepts in vaccinology: REIVAC Advisory Committee
Centers of Investigation (CICs)

Easy recruitment due to :
• Volunteers electronic database
• Access to hospitals patients’ active files

Optimal safety guarantee for patients and volunteers (with
adapted procedures for phase I)

Storage and dispensation facilities for vaccines
