nonprofits
--

modules for online organizing, fundraising, events and other key aspects of
your work.

Our main focus will be on a selection of favorite features that

are part of the best practices for your non

profit, followed by

a Q&A and with participants sharing their favorites.

(Participants will get a brief DIY introduction on how to find

modules and get them up and working.)

What is a Module?

“Download hundreds of modules to customize

and extend your site.”

Defined of Module: Software (usually PHP

and CSS) that extends Drupal features and

functionality. Drupal distinguishes between

‘core’ and ‘contributed’ modules.

Definition of “
Core
”: The files and modules

included with the Drupal project download.

Definition of “Contributed”: Modules that are not part of the core Drupal product. Contributed
modules and themes are available for separate download from the modules and themes
sections of Drupal.org downloads. These are separate from the Drupal “core”, although over
time they can become part of it. Similar concepts exist in other software and are sometimes
called “plugins”, “add
-
ons” or “extensions”.
