Starting
from a simple initial state,
the
reversible cellular automaton rule yields states that
seem progressively more random.
Such
behaviour corresponds to that expected from the
Second
Law of
thermodynamics,
and
can form the basis for simple
discrete
cellular automata to show macroscopic
average behaviour which mimics continuum phenomena.
