At Pacom we have some very busy and thrilling
times in front of us.
We are just about to globally launch a completely
new security platform named
Pacom .is
Unison.
We have successfully sold Unison in Sweden
for a couple of years now, and it’s running
on demanding sites such as Arlanda Airport,
Gothenburg University and Volvo. Unison is
rapidly becoming the natural choice for customers
who are looking for a fully integrated security
platform that manages all their electronic security
requirements.
We are now bringing the product to our English-
speaking markets as the first phase in our global
launch. We can proudly announce that as of the
beginning of the year we already have a customer
outside Sweden running their security on Unison,
the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia (MCA)
at Circular Quay in the middle of Sydney. So with
a visit to the MCA you can now get a bit of culture
and learn more about Pacom’s security solutions
in one go.
At the beginning of this year we also moved to
new premises in Australia. We are now located at
a high-tech facility in Macquarie Park, just north
of Sydney, which is easily accessible for staff,
customers and partners by train or car. Please feel
welcome to visit us at our new facility.
Enjoy the read and we look forward to continuing
our exciting journey with you as a customer and
partner in 2012!
Best regards,
Johan Lembre

Three in a row for Pacom!
With the support of Pacom’s Sydney-based Value
Added Reseller (VAR), CDS Security, the
Pacom
.is
platform was installed to meet a number of
Tabcorp’s unique requirements. One of the key
deliverables was to upgrade the security system
so that their IT department could service and
maintain the security system like any other
(critical) server/application for which they have
responsibility.
Compatibility with common IT standards and the
possibility to integrate the technology within the
latest Windows Server environments is a key
feature of the
Pacom .is
system. Tabcorp were
also able to centralize their security operations
across their corporate WAN and support multiple
alarm monitoring companies simultaneously.
The Pacom field equipment installed at Tabcorp’s
300+ locations integrates with personal safety
equipment to ensure staff safety. A high level
interface with wireless duress devices enables site
staff to quickly, easily and discreetly alert security
staff of impending or real security threats.
“Pacom Systems is delighted to have won the
ASIAL Integrated Security Solution award for
the third successive year” said Rocco Palladino,
Pacom’s National Sales Manager for Australia &
New Zealand.
“It is an honor to receive this type of recognition
for the innovative and scalable
Pacom .is
solution
that we demonstrated with the Tabcorp project.”
Australia’s peak security industry body, the
Australian Security Industry Association (ASIAL)
has recognized Pacom Systems at the 2012

Pacom .is
represents a
state-of-the-art, IT-based integrated security

IT rules and policies, standardized (template)
configuration and virtualization.

Pacom has in IP communications, and can
effectively manage thousands of security events
per second from multiple sites.

Unison
With such a diverse range of facilities within a
single building, Unison provides a number of
security-enriching features for the MCA.
At the heart of the Unison system lies the ability to
visually control an entire site from graphical maps,
combined with the flexibility of operator skins that
allow screens to be configured in an intuitive, easy
to understand format. Unison allows any alarm
within the building environment to be easily raised
and managed, ensuring optimal security.
“Pacom provides one of the pivotal platforms that
ensures that the MCA has a secure environment
for artists, artworks, educators and staff to fulfil
our vision of offering programs that enrich the
lives of all Australians. The ability to integrate
across different platforms was one of the key
reasons that we chose Pacom” said Euan Upston,
Chief Operating Officer for the MCA. “Pacom’s
commitment to excellence and company ethos
based on going the extra yard was a major
differentiator”.
The Museum of Contemporary Art Australia (MCA)
has chosen Pacom as a technology partner, and
has installed Pacom’s new campus-style security
management system,
Pacom .is
Unison.
In a select introduction in Australia, with an official
product launch in July, Pacom has partnered with
prominent organizations to debut the Unison
security management solution. As a result, the
MCA has installed the Unison system as its core
security management solution.
Unison combines a market-leading GUI (Graphical
User Interface) with the ability to integrate access
control, intruder alarm, fire, intercom, messaging,
and video in a single open security management
platform.
The MCA officially opened its new expanded
Museum on 29th March, 2012. With a history
that spans more than 20 years, the Museum is
located in the historic Rocks area of Sydney, and is
dedicated to exhibiting, collecting and interpreting
the work of today’s artists. The MCA’s facilities play
host to museum exhibits, artwork, public cafés,
function venues, corporate offices, and training,
learning and business facilities.

China’s Immigration Facility Protected by Pacom
Pacom’s growing reputation in the Asian region
is nowhere more evident than in the installation
of the GMS security solution at the Entry-Exit
Administration Bureau of Shanghai (EEABS) in
China.
The EEABS is the main bureau for foreigners who
need to extend their visa, change a visa, or apply
and make changes to a residency permit. The
bureau handles a large number of visa requests
daily and provides three reception halls, more
than 60 reception desks, car parking, and a large
administrative office.
The EEABS also handles requests for Chinese
nationals seeking passports to travel abroad to
Hong Kong and Macau. It’s not uncommon for
several hundred visitors to be in the building at
any point in time, providing a security challenge
for the government bureau.
The Pacom GMS solution provides the impressive
EEABS building with the highest level of security
for the government organization and protects staff
and equipment without affecting the operation
and logistics of handling thousands of visitors on
a daily basis.
Paul Zheng, Technical Sales Manager for Pacom
Systems Asia-Pacific, said, “GMS is a perfect fit for
the security requirements of the Entry-Exit Bureau
of Shanghai. Installation in such a prestigious,
modern government building, proves the growing
reputation of both Pacom Systems and the GMS
solution in the Asian region.”

ISC West Security Show in Las Vegas to recognize
the superb customer service and relationship
dedication provided by Pacom’s North American

Included in the basis of determining award
recipients, Pacom excelled in the areas of quality,
being able to rectify issues with immediate
response, ability to deliver product efficiently
with short lead times, providing a stable cost and

With more than 150 years of experience, Diebold
is a global leader in the delivery of integrated self-

GMS Video Integration Enhancements
This means that GMS can be used as a true Security
Management Station platform. In addition, GMS
can now trigger events within the video system.
For example, when a door is forced, GMS can send
a command to a connected DVR system that begins
the recording system, and increases the recording
frame rate or any other command accepted by
the DVR. This level of interoperability ensures the
highest level of security for every facility.
Combined with the existing library of video
surveillance integrations, the above compatibility
list ensures that GMS is suitable for installation in
nearly any security environment.
The GMS video interface provides the industry’s
widest video interoperability platform with
compatibility to more than 25 different video
manufacturers.
Recently, the video integration in GMS has been
significantly enhanced to provide greater flexibility
with more powerful integration capabilities. DVR
files can now be “plugged-in” to GMS individually,
providing flexibility in accessing updates, and
allowing for quicker delivery of new DVR platforms.
The GMS video surveillance feature matrix has also
now been enhanced to provide tighter integration
between GMS and the video equipment. These
new enhanced features provide the ability for GMS
to receive virtually any alarm from the connected
video system. This may, for example, include
alarms on motion detection, low hard disk drive
space, loitering, or even video signal loss for a
specific camera.
GMS now includes
updated interfaces
from these video
manufacturers:

* DVTel
* Geutebruck
* SeeTec
* Heitel
* LanAccess
