What is PhoneGap?


PhoneGap is a free and open source framework.


It allows you to create mobile apps using
standardized web APIs for the platforms you
care about.


Initially built to work with the iPhone, within a
year PhoneGap was growing and beginning to
support Android too. Now, PhoneGap is one of
the most talked about toolkits for developing
mobile applications.

Download the latest copy of PhoneGap

Extract the archive to your local file system
for use later.


You are now ready to create your first
PhoneGap project for Android within
Eclipse.

you will see it contains one separate folder for each

Setup your PATH environment
variable on Windows



From the Desktop, right

click My Computer and click Properties.


Click Advanced System Settings link in the left column.


In the System Properties window click the Environment Variables
button.


Select the PATH variable from the System variables section.


Select the Edit button.


You need to add the path to your Android SDK platform

Save your edit. Close the Environment Variables dialog.

Setup New Project


File > New > Android Project


Select Create new project
from existing source


Click Browse and point it to
the location of the sample
app provided with your
PhoneGap download
