A discussion was held regarding the restriction of retail are
as in Geelong to
centralise shopping are
a
s and keep businesses competitive. PB used the example
of Lygon Street in Melbourne and how
limiting car parks for businesses encourage

private car parks and the use of public transport.

A number of members
had other commitments to attend to so the meeting was
called to an end.

BC asked the group to
confirm if

they
felt the meetings
wer
e heading along the right
track and the group was achieving what it was set up to do.

The group confirmed
that this was the

case.

A discussion paper
was circulated

to
the group regarding

the Cost of Doing
Business in Central
Geelong. This item
will be discussed at
the next meeting.
