Setup UCM (1/6)


The IP Office IP500v2 will automatically recognise the card when installed
into one of the four card slots and the Control Unit is power cycled.


The UCM will boot when the control unit is powered up and use the IP
Address of the IP Office control unit.


First boot time will be approximately 2 minutes


The UCM installation is a simple process, IP500v2 will only allow one
Processor Card to be installed, any further cards installed will not be
recognised by the control unit

Progress of the installation can be monitored using the System Status
Application


giving status details such as Free Memory, Disk space,
battery charging details and running temperature

To complete the installation, the installer will use a browser to connect to
the UCM using

Setup UCM (4/6)


UCM IP address


A newly installed Unified Communications Module uses the IP Office system's
LAN1 IP address for browser access to the module's initial configuration menu.


During that initial configuration, an IP address for future access to the Unified
Communications Module is set.



One

X Portal for IP Office IP address


The one
-
X Portal for IP Office service running on the Unified Communications
Module is accessed using the module's IP address or DNS name suffixed with
:8080 as the port number.



Voicemail Pro IP address


The voicemail server service running on the Unified Communications Module is
accessed by the Voicemail Pro client using the module's IP address.

The following addresses are used only for internal connections between
the IP Office system and the applications running on its UCM.


These addresses are fixed and normally automatically set:



One

X Portal for IP Office Connection:
169.254.0.1


This address is used for the CSTA and DSML provider connections from the
one
-
X Portal for IP Office application to the IP Office.


It is also used as the SNTP time source address for the UCM.
(so make sure
time source is set correctly on IP Office)



Voicemail Pro Connection:
169.254.0.2


This address is used for as the internal address for connections to the
voicemail server.


It is set as the IP address of the voicemail server in the IP Office system's
configuration.


It is also used as the voicemail provider address by the one
-
X Portal for IP
Office application.

Setup UCM (6/6)


Upgrades would normally be performed using the Webcontrol
browser interface.
(.rpm files downloaded from
support.avaya.com)


If a full re
-
image or major upgrade was required, this can be
performed by inserting a USB DVD Player or a configured USB
memory stick into one of the front panel USB ports


Press and hold the reset button (top button) until the LEDs change
from orange on to off initiating a boot from the USB drive


The upgrade will automatically start


When complete the card will reboot and run the new image


This whole process takes approximately 45 minutes.

Updates


Upgrading applications is done through the Updates page


The repository used can be
either a set of files uploaded to the sever or
the URL of a remote folder on an HTTP server.

Software Repositories


There are seperate repositories for OS, Applications and Windows Client
files


If „Local“ is not checked, the location should be the URL of a remote
HTTP file repository


If „Local“ is checked, you can browse to a file location on the server to
upload the file to the Application Server store

File transfer to the Server


To transfer files to the server, SFTP/SSH is used


Tools such as WS_FTP, WinSCP or SSH Secure Shell can be used


Login details:


the Host Name is the IP address of the IP Office Application Server.


the User Name is webcontrol.


the Protocol is SFTP/SSH.


the Port is 22


the Password is web


The default folder is /home/
webcontrol


Deposit wavs in Custom Folder.
