Course
Description
This course introduces fundamental concepts of static electric & magnetic
field.
After a review of coordinate systems, scalar & vector fields, and
some mathematical concepts, we will study electric & magnetic fields in
free space and other media. Energy in the fields and its use
will also be
discussed. Course will end with
the introd
uction of
Maxwell’s equations
for static & time
-
varying fields.
Expected
Outcomes
1.
Understand the relationships between charges, currents and
electromagnetic fields.
2.
Apply these concepts for the solution of some simple problems.
