RAFSA(D) WEBMASTER


Introduction
. RAFSA maintain a common (Internet) web server which provides
information about activity within all divisions of the RAFSA AOR. The Dinghy
Webmaster is responsible for the content that appears under the Dinghy homepage

as directed by both the RC and respective Dinghy Sections; Training, Racing and
Fleet management.


1.

Eligibility
. This post requires no formal qualifications, but an interest in web
technology, and web development would be a distinct advantage. Whilst not

requiring the post holder to be a sailor, an interest in the sport will undoubtedly
improve the potential utilisation and exploitation of this technology as a medium for
communications both internal and external.


2.

Responsibilities
. The Webmaster is res
ponsible to the Rear Cdre for the
maintenance of the RAFSA(D) website, associated forums and events tools.
Specifically, the Webmaster is to:


i)

Respond to requests from each of the dinghy sections. Providing guidance and
advice in terms of best practice.


ii)

Control, monitor and maintain the following:




Dinghy Forums



Dinghy Events (in the RAFSA Events Calendar)



Publication of forthcoming Dinghy Events



Publication of returns from Dinghy Events



Publication of Dinghy news items



Control of RAFSA (Dinghy) Mailboxe

Maintaining the Dinghy division pages


iii)

Maintain effective links with the RAFSA PRO.


iv)

Complete work on the Dinghy Websites IAW the RAFSA Local Work Instructions
(LWIs) and Administration guides. In addition, from time to time the webmaster
may be requi
red to produced LWIs.


b.

Assist RAFSA Club OICs in the development and production of Clubs
websites.


3.

Future Development
. The Webmaster should aim to maintain an awareness
of future web development technologies and the future aspiration for Web hosting via
the PRO.


4.

Training
.
The webmaster is encouraged to identify any formal or informal
training which would be beneficial to current and future web technologies.
These should be identified to the RC for consideration.
