As the power consumption issue is getting important,
wise power control system is needed.


Smart Grid
: A smart, self
-
healing electric power
system.

Despite of the development of Smart Grid, there lacks
a general mechanism.


We utilize SIP and SNMP as management
mechanisms in Smart Grid.

proprietary.

As Smart Grid becomes an important issue, we
need a efficient and general solution.

SNMP has been widely used in network
management, SIP is newbie in this field,
however, some people take SIP as the clear
choice for Smart Grid communication.

NAT is the issue in the remote management.

SNMP has no register, hence, SNMP request will
be blocked by NAT if SNMP server is in remote
network.


SIP provides register, thus, end
-
devices register to
the remote SIP proxy server and user agent can
send request to end
-
devices via SIP proxy server.

Conclusion


Despite the rapid growth of Smart Grid,
without a general management mechanism
slows down the development.


Both SNMP and SIP are mature protocols in
their original design concept.


In this thesis introduces two feasible
mechanisms in Smart Grid management.

to consumers.


However, it uses

way digital technology

to support
communication

between consumers and suppliers.


It combines power systems, telecommunications,
smart energy devices, information technology, and
digital control.
