These reports will help you manage the budget by allowing you to see how changes affect
the Actual and Budget scenarios. The reports provide summary data for managerial review.

Note
: Transactional and encumbrance data are not stored in Hyperion. Budget variance
reports that include that level of detail are available via the Data Warehouse (Cognos).

Start with
Prompt Page


Some reports
are designed to
start with a prompt, allowing you to filter criteria before
running the report.

You can select multiple entities for these reports and can
change the
POV after the report is run.




The “$A” variable in the default Period selection represents the current date.

Other reports are designed so that double

clicking the report automatically runs the re

Downloading the Report to Excel


You can download reports to Excel by clicking the
Export to Query Ready Mode

link at

You must have Smart View installed

To access the portal, click the
Reports in Cognos

link on the Hyperion home page and log

to Cognos. The portal page provides a list of the budget variance reports.

Clicking a
report link opens the prompt page for the report.

Creating a Report View (Allows Saving of Prompt Values)

A report view functions as a shortcut for a report and allows you to set different actions for
the report, such as saving your prompt values so you do not
have to enter them each time.

This topic demonstrates how to create a report view and set some of the commonly used
options for the report. In this training scenario, you want to create a report view for BudVar
1, set the default prompt values, and have th
e report delivered to you and a coworker via
email as an attachment.
