•This reference project was started in 2001 with the goal to simulate
the physical layer of LIN-Bus network.
•LIN is a single wire bus topology (20 KBaud) which is used as a
communication bus in a lot of automotive comfort applications.
•The focus on this system model was the modelling of a LIN
transceiver which is the connection from the application layer
(protocol engine) to the physical layer (ISO/OSI reference model)
and the bus-wire topology (structural RLC description).
•In contrast of the Powernetthe modelling aspects were focused on
the mixed signal side, especially the investigations of the
analog/digital and digital/analogsynchronisation and the
equivalents of the simulation results on different simulators.

•Further goals in this project were to create a first VHDL-AMS language
subset which should be implemented by all relevant commercial simulators
and to get the first experience with the modelling exchange process
between component supplier and OEM.
