HEALTH AND SAFETY

3. The health and safety of our cadets and adults is of paramount importance and as such, it is
essential that the conduct of the planned event be carried out in a safe manner. All those responsible
for activities are to be fully conversant with the releva
nt publications appropriate to the discipline for
which they are responsible.


4. This event will be supervised by at least one Qualified Life guard.


5. Risk Assessments have been carried out and will be present in the stats area, all instructors
involved

in the championship are to sign the Risk assessment to confi
rm they have read and
understand it
.

11. EVENT RULES

The Championship will be conducted under the laws of the Amateur Swimming Association (ASA).
There will
be
four Classes:


Class A

Junior Male Cadets

Class B

Senior Male Cadets

Class C

Junior Female Cadets

Class D

Senior Female Cadets

will do 2 lengths in all events. To qualify cadets will need to have been born on or after 1

Seniors will swim 3 lengths in all events except the butterfly, which will be 2 lengths. To qualify

Limitation of Entries



No County may enter a competitor for more than a maximum of 3 events
which includes the Relay. However a competitor may in addition compete in the Individual Medley
but this will not count towards their maximum number of events.

Swimmers will participate as indicated on the sheet. Amendments are only permitted up
to the start of the competition and thereafter only in cases of

serious injury and with the authorisation
of the O/C event and Regional Event Secretary.

are requested to make their own arrangements for the
transportation
of
their
cadets
to this
event

SERVICE AND SUPPORT

14. DRESS

There is a s
trict code of dress at National levels, which we will follow.
Please refer to the ACFA
Sports manual for Guidance. The current version is V13.

To confirm that Regional Swimmers are correctly attired, we will follow this code accordingly


15. STORES

Count
ies are requested to bring a first aid kit.



ADMINISTRATION

16. MEDICAL

A Qualified Life Guard will be at the event together with a safety vehicle, stretcher and medical
pack.
Hants and IOW ACF are kindly requested to provide
the stretcher and medical
pack
.


Casevac will be co
-
ordinated by the O/C of event through the stats point. The following procedure is
to be employed:

i.

Minor injuries and minor illness will be treated by the First Aider. If necessary they may be
evacuated by minibus to the
nearest A
& E hospital

ii.

S
erious casualties
,

an ambulance will be requested using the 999 system. The following
information must be passed to the emergency services:

1.

Nature of accident.

2.

Location of accident.

3.

Number and nature of casualties.

4.

Type of assistance required
.

Any accident that occurs during the event that involves injury, no matter how trivial, an ACF Injury
form will also be completed and submitted to
your
Battalion HQ.


Any Cadet deemed having to go to Hospital, will need to be accompanied by a CFAV from th
eir
County. Transport arrangements will be discussed at the time
