Karen Wells, BSc Horticulture
After graduating from Writtle College with a BSc in Horticulture, Karen & her
business partner ran Mulberry Landscapes, a garden design & landscaping business,
for three years. In 1996 Karen sidestepped into web & graphic design - ever since
she has been working wonders in the education, commercial & charity sectors,
including the University of Cambridge & the NHS.
A voluntary director of Saffron Walden Community Interest Company
(experienced in the world of corporate identity, marketing, social media, content
creation & SEO), in January 2011 Karen branded Walden Local Food & created a
smart new website. Since then she has been implementing a content led marketing
strategy, which includes writing for The Herts & Essex Observer. Through books,
observation & experimentation, Karen has honed her food styling, creative culinary
& photography skills, publishing a series of mouth-watering recipes on the WLF
website. In recent months turnover has increased fourfold.
