1.0
Introduction

The purpose of this report is t
o give an update on the progress that has been made by HV Design
& Development on the eAdvisor project.
This
progress
report

will cover topics that have been
covered during meetings, interactions with the client,
research covered in the
development of the
project, the prototype

that has been developed, and documentation that
has

been written.

2.0
Meetings

The HV Design & Deve
lopment team has conducted two types of meeting
s

since the last
progress report. The first type of meeting is a weekly client meeting and these will be discussed
more in the client section of this report. The other type of meeting that has been conducted i
s a
weekly work group
meeting. Work group meeting
s are attended only by team members and

are
used to touch base on what code has been d
eveloped, what documentation
has been written, and
to set goals to be completed before the next meeting. It is also an op
portunity to express current
issues in development and how they can be resolved.

3.0
Client

The main interaction with the client

since that last progress report

is a weekly client meeting.
This meeting is used to enhance

understanding

of

how the program will be used through user
stories, present documentation for approval
,

and
present
program prototypes for demonstration.

Documentation that has b
een presented to the clients includes a
list of milestones

that will later
be used in the proj
ect plan

and the Software Development Agreement
. The program prototype
that has been demonstrated to the client is a parsing prototype. Client comments are taken after
the demonstration and turned in to user stories that
will later be used in the developme
nt of the
program.

4
.0
Current Prototype

The program prototype completed so far has been coded using Java SE in the Netbeans
framework. The prototype
project

co
nsists of a
GUI window that loads a .txt file (file is a
copy/paste of a transcript viewed in
WebAdvisor) and outputs the course IDs (for example, CSC
-
150) to the command line.

This information will later be used to populate a chart of classes
taken.

.0
Documentation

The documentation that has been completed

and presented to the client

since the

last progress
report is a list of milestones and the Software Development Agreement.

The list of milestones
was used as a starting point for the program development, and still needs timelines attached to
each milestone. The list of milestones, along with
timelines, will later be used in a Project Plan
document that will outline the entire project and give due dates to every prototype and milestone.
The Software Development Agreement is a standard liability contract and understanding of the
involvement of t
he Senior Design team HV Design & Development. It is current
ly being
reviewed by the client. U
pon review,
any reasonable

changes

will be accepted as the operating
agreement between the client and HV Design & Development.
