Vocational Institute possess
over a decade of experience with adult learners in caree
. Florida Vocational Institute is licensed by the State of Florida Commission for
Independent Education License Number: 3441 (CIE) since October 2006. Florida Vocational
Institute is approved by the Florida Board of Nursing to offer the Nursing A
Program License Number/Testing Code: 1159 (previously 792).

Medical Assistants, Pharmacy Technicians, Patient Care Technicians, and Nursing

The Medical Assistant program at Florida Vocational Institute prepares you for an exciting
er in the healthcare industry. Medical Assisting is one of the more popular healthcare
positions that are currently projected to grow in upcoming years. According to the U.S.
Bureau of Labor Statistics, medical assisting employment rates are expected to gr
ow 31%

Our graduates are trained for entry
level positions in hospitals
, doctors’ offices, urgent care
clinics, and several other medical facilities in all the relevant aspects of administrative,
laboratory, and clinical procedures.

These include:

Bookkeeping, record management, medical supply inventory, and appointment

Understanding of insurance claims, billing, and prescription orders

Preparation of patients for examinations

Completion of routine clinical tasks such as recording patient history, collecting vital
signs, blood pressure, height, temperature, and weig

Ability to perform medical and lab tests including urinalysis, phlebotomy, and

Completing blood samples, injections, and suture removals

Providing therapeutic care and patient education

The Patient Care Technician program at Florida Vocational Institute provides stud

a fundamental understanding of a career in patient care.

You will learn how to provide the care necessary to

assist your physician and comfort your
. Patient Care Technician students will learn the proper way to collect bodily fluids
for t
esting, sanitize a patient’s room, and monitor a patient’s condition. Under the guidance
of a physician or practitioner, students will learn how to check blood and glucose levels, vital

signs and provide home healthcare needs to patients. Having been equip
ped with the
technical knowledge, you will learn how to manage the wide array of responsibilities of a
Patient Care Technician with poise.

Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Nursing Assistant/Home Health Aide program

term patient care
Exploring topics in rehabilitative and geriatric care, you will practi

feeding, grooming, and bathing techniques. You will
