ystem



Broadcast

quality digital audio production mixing system with
32 dual
-
layer faders,
providing up to 24 mono channels with full EQ and Dynamics processing, 42 stereo
channels
with full EQ and Dynamics processing, and control of up to 64 channels. The
system shall also offer one dedicated mix
-
minus per channel;

one direct output per
channel; insert points per channel; 8 busses for auxiliary sends; 16 multi
-
track busses;
and two

main outputs which can operate as 5.1 surround and/or as stereo. All signal paths
shall have a matrix to physical inputs and outputs of a number and type as described
herein.

The mixing system shall be designed so that a PC is not required for sustained
o
peration or boot
-
up.



1.00

GENERAL DESCRIPTION


1.01

The equipment shall be designed in accordance with good engineering
practice and shall provide a level of performance consistent with the state
of the art.


1.02

A CD copy of the operator's and engineer
ing manuals shall be supplied (in
English language).


1.03

All cables required for interconnection of the mixing system’s components
shall be provided.



1.04

The mixing system shall be completely assembled and tested (including all
factory installed opti
ons) prior to shipment.

Results of the testing showing
that the specifications are met must be included with the system.


1.05

Equipment electronic board frames shall be designed for mounting in
standard 19
-
inch equipment racks.


1.06

The mixing sy
stem shall operate on 110VAC, 60 Hz and shall be UL
certified.


1.07

The mixing system shall be covered by a one
-
year parts and labor
warranty.

The vendor shall provide
24/7
phone technical support. They
shall provide module exchange within 24 hours of n
otification.

2003 digital audio standards.

2.00

Minimum overall technical requirements



2.01

The mixing system shall pass digital audio with a 48 kHz sampling rate



and 24
-
bit sample depth.



2.02

Th
e mixing system shall be capable of 100 mic or line inputs, 76 line



level outputs and 48 AES digital input and 48 AES digital output ports.



2.03

All cards and modules shall be designed to be hot
-
plugged and to




initialize upon insertion.



2.04

The

mixing system shall have
48 kHz digital audio synchronization with



video black burst, internal reference, word clock, and AES/EBU signals.



2.05

The mixing system shall have an

embedded
proprietary

operating system



independent from a separate compu
ter [PC] system.



2.06

The mixing system shall be designed so that a PC is not required for



sustained operation or boot

up.



2.07

The mixing system shall have an on

board Flash ROM memory system



that offers 99 memories for the recall of scenes (in
dependent of the PC).

The mixing system’s console & racks shall boot from power

than 20 seconds.

The control system shall be capable of a full reset in less than 15 seconds.

operation ensuring audio



continuity even during PC or control system reset.

hardware and software package. On

board hot spares shall monitor the



performance of the DSP
and console processor cards and an

over shall occur in the event that a DSP or console





processor card fails to operate.

Remote input and output mic/line panels in ‘Studio A’, ‘Studio C’, and the


‘Audio Control Room’ shall connect to the DSP Rack in the equipment



room using Category 5e UTP
[or CAT6] wiring.
