UNIT DESCRIPTION:

reclosing of a circuit breaker by verifying that voltage and phase angle conditions are within pre

set limits
before allowing the breaker to close. Adju
stable front panel controls are provided for upper and lower voltage
limits, voltage di
fference (ΔV) limit, phase angle limit, time delay and dead line/bus limits. Analog outputs of
phase angle, voltage and ΔV are provided for SCADA system interface. Phase angle, voltage and time delay
dial settings are independent and do not vary with input

conditions.

5625 Syncrocloser Digital Synchronizing System is suitable for the automatic synchronizing of
a generator to the electric power network. The system provides speed and voltage “jogs” to bring a generator to
proper conditions
of matching voltage and frequency, prior to safely and accurately closing a breaker into a bus
energized by an electric power network. The Digital Synchronizing System is intended for three general classes
of application:

0194 Generator Control Unit matches the generator speed and voltage to system conditions in minimum
time with output control jogs that use a proportional pulse width algorithm. The time between jogs is adjustable
to match the response characteristics
of the control, prime mover and generator system. The kicker pulse brings
phase angle around through zero degrees if speed is matched but synchronism has not yet occurred.

interface functions. It includes protection for abnormal voltage, frequen
cy, overcurrent, directional power, and

check and programmable reconnect time are also provided. Stored sequence of events and
oscillography are included as extended functions. RS

485 communication ports provide user and
SCADA

interface capabilities. The M

3810A IPScom Communications Software is included for direct serial or
remote communications access. Waveform data can be downloaded using IPScom while the IPSplot PLUS
Oscillograph Analysis Software allows for plotting and pr
inting of the downloaded oscillographic data. Sensing
voltage up to 480 volts, accepts 1 A or 5 A nominal current, phase rotation
(
ABC or ACB) and nominal
frequency (50 or 60 Hz) are user selectable in software.
