Description of
Course:
Economic Literature is concerned with introducing some classic and important
papers to undergraduate students. These path
-
breaking economic models are to be
discussed in the class.
Each student is expected to write a term paper of her or his
interest
and
give critiques on a given topic. A brief introduction to well
-
known
papers will be given to students who will in turn analyze
and
summarize the
paper.
Objectives of the Course:
The
objective of Economic Literature is to equip students with knowledge in
economics to expand their ability to understand various issue in the 21th century.
Since economics is the only social science that is awarded Nobel Prize each year,
it is of utmost im
portance for economics majors to understand the meaning and
issue behind each
issue
. Writing is an important component (term paper) of the
course.
Grading System:
Final grade is determined based on the following exams and paper.
Two Exams

One Term Paper
