Our  next  Future  In
-­‐
Space  Operations  (FISO)  telecon  colloquium  will  
be  Wednesday,  
August  8,  when  we  will  host  Maria  Bualat  (NASA  ARC),  who  will  speak  on  "Surface  
Telerobotics  from  ISS."
 
 
As  always,  the  colloquium  will  be  at  3pm  ET  and  will  use  our  regular  FISO  telecon  
number.
 
 
The  speaker's  presentation  will  be  posted  on  t
he  FISO  server  at  the  University  of  
Texas  at  by  noon  of  the  day  of  the  colloquium:

Maria  is  the  Acting  Deputy  Area  Lead  for  the  Autonomous  Systems  and  Robotics  
Technical  Area  at  NASAAmes  Research  Center  where  she  has  been  working  since  
1987.  Maria  has  been  working  in
 the  mobile  planetary  robotics  field  since  1995,  
serving  as  a  Deputy  Group  Lead  for  the  Intelligent  Robotics  Group  (IRG)  since  2005.  
Maria  has  managed  several  projects  for  the  Science  Mission  Directorate,  Exploration  
Systems  Mission  Directorate,  and  the  Of
fice  of  the  Chief  Technologist  including:  the  
Mars  Technology  Program’s  ARC  Rover  Testbed  project,  MIDP  instrument  
integrations  and  demonstrations  on  the  K9  and  K10  planetary  rovers,  ETDP’s  
Human
-­‐
Robot  Site  Survey  project,  and  Surface  Telerobotics  under  OC
T’s  Human  
Exploration  Telerobotics  project.  Maria’s  professional  interests  include  visual  
navigation,  user  interfaces,  and  field  testing  of  mobile  robots.
