RFID Middleware

RFID Reader
連接
?」

Application to Application
Middleware
Application Server
Middleware
RFID

RFID Middleware

RFID Middleware
Message
-
Oriented Middleware

MOM
Information
)是以
Message
Asynchronous
Passing

RFID Middleware

RFID middleware functionality and capability will drive a
significant portion of your project’s success.

Middleware can provide the following functionality

Reader Coordination : Device management for both
readers and other devices

Data filtering and aggregation : Data collection

acquisition

structuring and integration

Data routing

EPC allocation of EPC numbers

Process Management : Track and trace applications

Global Data Synchronization Network

What we need GDS?

In order to partake in RFID, organisations must be able to
communicate their product data globally.

This product data must be validated, up to date, and
contain the information needed by any third party with
whom they wish to trade or communicate.

With millions of products being manufactured, it is easy
to understand that managing information about goods and
services across the supply chain is a complex, time
consuming and expensive exercise.

The inability to seamlessly communicate product
information between trading partners has been a long
standing issue across manufacturers, distributors and
retailers alike.

Global Data Synchronization Network

What is global data synchronization?

Global data synchronization enables suppliers to publish their item
data through a Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN)
certified data pool to a central global location, the GS1 Global
Registry™.

A retailer’s data pool receives the data which automatically feeds into
the retailer’s internal systems for item creation or maintenance.

Data synchronization through the GDSN provides:

-
Real
-
time item maintenance for specific fields

-
Accurate, standards
-
based, synchronized data that reduces
inefficiencies in the supply chain

-
Validation checks to make sure that general rules are followed.
Example: Dimensions are verified so that a case can’t be smaller
than an each.

Suppliers or retailers only need to join one data pool in order to
get their data to all of their trading partners in the GDSN.

Global Data Synchronization Network

What is a Global Location Number (GLN)?

The globally unique GS1 system standards identification
number for legal entities, functional entities and physical
locations.

The Global Location Number uses the EAN/UCC
-
13
Data Structure.

Supply side trading partner locations generally include
corporate headquarters, regional offices, warehouses,
plants and distribution centers.

Demand side trading partner locations generally include
corporate headquarters, divisional offices, stores and
distribution centers.

What is a Global Trade Item Number® (GTIN®)?

The globally unique GS1 system standards identification
number for products and services.

A Global Trade Item Number may be 8, 12, 13 or 14
digits in length using the EAN/UCC
-
8, UCC
-
12,
EAN/UCC
-
13, or EAN/UCC
-
14 data structure
respectively.

What is a data pool?

An entity that provides its customers data
synchronization services and a single point of entry to the
GDSN.

Data pools must be certified per GS1 system standards to
operate within the GDSN.

What are the benefits of the Global Data Synchronization
Network?

Data synchronization provides an automated method to
synchronize our item information with suppliers
according to global industry standards by utilizing the
same format for all trade items and parties to improve
accuracy.
