Welcome to 4Java.ca VIENNA server.

This server is running Suse Linux Enterprise Server

10

-------------------

Plesk Control Panel

-------------------

This server is running under Plesk Control Panel (version 8.1).

Plesk Client Manual is available in left side menu under 'Help'

or directly from Plesk
's website at

http://download1.swsoft.com/Plesk/Plesk8.1/Doc/plesk

Your control panel options can be accessed at:

https://vienna.clusterspan.net:8443/

There are two types of logins:

global u
ser: to manage all your accounts/domainnames.

domain user: to control settings for your account/domainname.

login for domain user is always domainname (ex: yourdomain.com)

-------------

Java & Tomcat

-------------

The

following java versions are available in these directories:

Version Location (path)

--------------------------------

JDK 1.4.2: /usr/local/jdk1.4.2

JDK 1.5.0: /usr/local/jdk1.5.0

JDK 1.6.0: /usr/local/jdk1.6.0

If y
ou have a private JVM package, Tomcat is installed

in your 'private' subdirectory, under name: jakarta
-
tomcat
-
X.X.X

X.X.X is a version of Tomcat you specified under

the registration process.

There is also a symlink in your home direct
ory named

jakarta
-
tomcat which is pointed to your jakarta
-
tomcat
-
X.X.X

This symlink is used at server boot time. You should not

remove it if you wish to have your Tomcat to be automatically

started after system reboot. Otherwise if ther
e is such an

occurrance, your JVM will remain off after the machine reboot

until it is manually started up.

To log in to your account (hint): Telnet is unsupported.

We recommend that you use Putty for SSH2 access.

http://www.chia
rk.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/

Or you can use any other commercial SSH2 software package.

To startup/shutdown your Tomcat, use the Jakarta scripts

located in your Tomcat's bin directory:

Tomcat startup:

cd ~/jakarta
-
tomc
at/bin

./startup.sh

Tomcat shutdown:

cd ~/jakarta
-
tomcat/bin

./shutdown.sh

Your Tomcat cooperates with the Apache webserver, which is

not administered by the user, but the system administrator.

By default, your

Tomcat is pointed to webapps/ROOT

Your default mappings for Apache are:

/*.jsp

/*.do

/*.action

/servlet/*

/admin/*

/admin

/manager/*

/manager

/jsp
-
examples/*

/servlets
-
examples/*

/WEB
-
INF/*

PARA NOTIFICAR FALLAS EN EL SERVIDOR:

If you wish us to add additional mappings, just let us know by

emailing support@4java.ca or loging into billing/support system

at

https://support.4java.ca/cgi
-
bin/client.cgi

We currently support the following versions of Tomcat:

> Jakarta Tomcat 4.1.31

Jakarta Tomcat 5.0.30

Apache Tomcat 5.5.20

Apache Tomcat 6.0.10

Shared Tomcat is running Apache Tomcat 5.5.12

You should use "httpdocs"

directory

to deploy your app at Shared Tomcat package.

------

Apache

------

By default, Apache webserver is pointed to httpdocs directory.

Apache webserver cooperates with your Tomcat, so each request

for specifi
ed urls/patterns are redirected from Apache to

your Tomcat (Apache/Tomcat mapping has been described

in "Java & Tomcat" section of this document).

Apache webserver is ready to host html/php pages,

also SSI/cgi/perl/python is supported

by default.

---------

Databases

---------

If you wish to use MySql or PostgreSQL database you should login

to Plesk control panel as domain user and click DATABASES button.

Then choose between mysql and postgresql, specif
y database name

and submit. After the database is created, click on the name of

the database and create a username/password for it.

To control and administer an existing database use

phpMyAdmin & phpPgAdmin by logining into Plesk cont
rol

panel, click DATABASES button, choose your database and

click "DB WebAdmin".

The server is running the following version of databases:

PostgreSQL 8.1.4

MySQL 5.0.18

using PostgreSQL:

http://www.4java.ca/support.ht
ml#q1

using MySQL:

http://www.4java.ca/support.html#q6

-----------
