Adding a New Page Using the Pagelime Content Management System

Step 1. Log In


I
f
you have not done so, please go to
http://www.pagelime.com

and click on the sign in button
in the top right hand corner of the page.

Step 2. Select Your Site


The next screen after logging in click on your site or the site you wish to e
dit. The next screen is
the

Site Actions


page, click on the

Site Pages


b
utton
. On the

Site Pages
” page

click on the folder
with your sites name.

Step 3. Create a Template

(Skip this step if you have created a template previously)


If you have not done so, you will need to create a template. The templ
ate is a copy of one of
your

existing pages. At this
point

you should be on the

Site Pages


page and have a list of all of your
pages in front of you.

1.

Click on the page you wish to use as a template.

(In most cases the Home Page)

2.

Your site
will appear in the editor. In the upper left corner place your mouse over the

Page Actions


button.

3.

Choose

save page as
template

.

4.

Leave the Template type as

Create from FTP Source Code

.

5.

Give the template a name
. (template works and

is easy to re
member)

6.

Click the

Create Te
mplate


button.

You will not get a message if the template is created successfully, only if there is an error.

Step 4.
Creating a New Page

1.

(if you just created a new template
mouse over

on the

site actions


button and then

click on the site pages and click the folder with your site
name)
In the right hand column
click on the
“create new page
” butto
n under Actions.

A pop
-
up box will appear. Give
your new page a

name. Please make sure to include the file
extension

.php

(example
newpage.php)
. Remember the new file name that you have used. You will need it to
create the navigation on the page.

If you have created more than

one tem
plate, choose the one you wish t
o use and then
click the create button.

3.

Yo
u will be taken to your new page. I
t will look just like the page you c
reate the
template from. This is how you will be able to tell which page you are on.



Step 5.

Adding the Page to the Navigation Bar

1.

Mouse over the

Site Actions


button at the top of the window. Click on the

edit site


option.
Your page will appear and as you mouse over the different sections of your site small black edit
buttons will appe
ar.

2.

Hover over t
he section with your navigation and click the edit button.

(If the edit button does
not show above the navigation please contact the web development department to have your
template updated)

3.

The

Edit HTML Content


window will appear in the bulleted list. Figure out where you want
your new page to show in the navigation. Type the name you w
ish to give the new page.


4.

Highlight the name of the new page and click on the

/e
dit


link in the toolbar.


5.

Add t
he filename in the link properties box (example newpage.php)

6.

Make sure to
add the title of the page in the title box of the link properties box. This will help in
making sure the site is ADA compliant.

7.

Now you will need to add the navigation link to the rest of your site.
You will need to complete
step5 parts 2

6 for each pag
e of your site.
