, 2013

Netronome, the leading
developer of
network flow
processors
, today

announced the company
will
demonstrate
the industry’s first
software
defined networking (SDN)

reference design

that uses flow processors and open dataplane software controlled by the OpenFlow

protocol. The reference design will be on display at the Open Networking User Group (ONUG)
on
February 13 at the Fidelity Investments Auditorium in Boston,
Massachusetts
.

Netronome’s
SDN

design

leverages the unique capabilities of flow processors to enh
ance and accelerate
the Op
enFlow datapath for services and applications at the edge of the SDN
.

“In an SDN world, applications and services

require flow intelligence at a very granular level,” said Jarrod
Siket,
senio
r
vice president of m
arketing
at

Netronome. “Thi
s requirement is forcing
devices to support
all OpenFlow match field
s

in SDNs.
Programmable flow pr
ocessors are well positioned to service these
applications by supporting the
evolving

OpenFlow standards.”

Given the latest advancements in
open networking
, we are excited to watch

as industry
leaders

share
their
solutions

and

perspectives

on SDN, virtualization, network convergence, and more,” said
Nick
Lippus
, editor of the Lippis Report and
chairman

of

ONUG
. “
We look forward to
seeing the
d
emonstration
of Netronome products and
are very pleased that Netronome is active in evolving and
accelerating SDN
