Study Plan

I entered the Dept. of Electronic Engineering of Chun Yuan Christian University in 1983. As
I studied Electronics, I developed a special interest in Digital Signal Processing, especially Digital
Image Processing, Digital Communication and Micro

processor. Upon graduation in 1987, I
entered the Army to fulfill my 22

Administration. During this time I acquired many skills applicable to this field including Unix V
System, C Language and 80386 Micro
-
processor.
From such challenging tasks, I was able to apply
the knowledge learned from school in a practical way. Now I consider myself well
-
prepared for
advanced studies.

In my pursuit for a master's degree, I plan to choose from the following topics: Employ radios,

covering wide spectrum, to detect and analyze some specific particles of physical quantities
(moisture, temperature, etc.)

All these subjects attract me greatly, I hope that I can combine them for a systematic
approach to various problems. Use Probability
, Statistics, Digital Signal Processing,
Communication and Micro
-
processor, integrated with computer programming, to study problems
in Digital Image Processing. I will do my graduate research in Digital Image Processing, and at the
same time, increase my k
nowledge in related fields. After obtaining a master's degree (at your
institution), I will return to Taiwan, where industries are developing quickly and people like myself
with these skills are in great demand. I want to contribute to the upgrading of my
country's
industries.
