Aims:



To
introduce transferable knowledge, techniques and computing skills to handle with remote
sensed imagery data



To introduce
and provide understanding

of methods to enhance, classify, extract and analyse
thematic information for various remote sensing applications



To provide understanding of the principles and mathematical background of image processing
and GIS.



Content:

The module will introduce esse
ntial knowledge and techniques of image processing and geographic
information system (GIS) for remotely sensed images in order to enhance, classify, extract and
analyse thematic information for various remote sensing applications. The details of the conten
t of the
course are shown in the teaching outline below.



Assessment:

3 hour seen examination, which takes place at the start of Term 2 (100%),.
