Microsoft Silverlight

is an application framework for
writing and running browser plug

ins or other rich
Internet application, with features and purposes similar to
those of Adobe Flash.



Silverlight aims to give .NET developers a better option
for creating rich web content.


Silverlight runs on top of compact .NET framework. It
