Specific Responsibilities:


• Installation/Configuration/Maintenance of WebSphere Application

Server Packages (Network and/or Enterprise
)
.


• Design of WAS installations in an “enterprise environment” with

existing/required topology (cells/nodes, LDAP,
DB Servers, JMS, etc).


• Development of Workload Management/Scalability /Failover strategies

(Clusters, load balancing, session state management, etc.).


• Performance Tuning
-

configuring caching, queuing, pooling, JVM

parameters. Use of Tivoli Perform
ance tools.


• Systems/Applications Management using Administrative Interfaces

Systems Management (Admin Console, WSAdmin).



• Troubleshooting using WAS logs, Site/Log Analyzers, Thread Analyzer.


• Security implementations (use of SSL/Firewalls between
tiers,

defining/implementing Security Roles/Policies, LDAP,
and JAAS
).

OS/WAS level Patch maintenance.


In addition to the above daily skills, the successful candidate will

have the following experience:


• Minimum of 5 years experience as a full time U
NIX/Linux Systems

Administrator

in a high volume production environment.


• Minimum 2 years experience as a full time WebSphere Administrator

in a high volume production environment.


• Working knowledge of J2EE (EJB, JNDI, JDBC, etc), OS/390 or Z0s

platform

administrators in troubleshooting calls from users along with trouble reports from 250+
RS6000 systems. The administrator will also work with the users to determine the

This person will be a member of the team that provides technical support for

IBM's
WebSphere

MQ / MQSeries
product

. This involves installation,

configuration, design, and
maintenance

of MQSeries on Sun Solaris, Windows

NT, AIX, and poss
ibly other platforms. This person will act as a consultant

to the application and project teams that use
WebSphere

MQ in their

applications, and will be responsible for documenting the application

message flow design during the project phase and for ongoin
g application

support. Technical support experience with MQ is required

experience desired. Experience supporting an application software

development group during development project cycles and after deployment is

required
