The AUMT Institute was founded in 2009 with a vision of building a network of
small, personal, and local campuses throughout Southern California to help students
obtain licensing as California Certified Phlebotomy Technicians.


Our idea is to provide the best education possible for the lowest tuitions in the state.
AUMT currently operates in four different cities: Torrance, Ontario, Victorville, and
Temecula.


All Campuses have classrooms, computer rooms, and administrative offices.
Entrances and exits are located so that the building can be cleared quickly and safely
in the case of an emergency. Parking is available in a well
-
lit parking lot.


The maximum number of students per instructor in the classroom, lecture settings
ranges from 8
-
16. The maximum number of students per instructor in the
laboratory setting is 8.

Accreditation


AUMT Institute was granted Institutional Approved by Bureau for Private
Postsecondary Education. AUMT Institute meets minimum standards established by
the Bureau for integrity, financial stability, and educational quality



AUMT Institute is approved by the California Department of Health/ Laboratory
Field Services (LFS/DHS) to offer Basic and Advanced Phlebotomy training to those
who wish to obtain a California Certified Phlebotomy Technician I License (CPTI)
and National Healthcareer Association (NHA)



AUMT Institute is approved by both National Center for Competency Testing
(NCCT) and National Healthcareer Association (NHA) as a National testing site.

Phlebotomy Technician I

Phlebotomists are primarily
responsible for the collection of
blood specimens using
standard phlebotomy
techniques. Other duties
include record checks, record
keeping, verification of patient
identification, specimen
processing, and instructing

patients on the collection of other specimens such as urine, stool, and sputum. The
phlebotomist must have the skills to perform routine, non
-
routine, and the most
difficult blood draws.

They must be able to determine the appropriate collection supplies and equipment
for specific laboratory tests and alter collection techniques for different laboratory
tests. They must understand how the laboratory works and the important role of
collection technique in laboratory testing results.

Admissions Requirements



Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.



Applicants must have one of the following:

o

a High School transcripts from a school in the US

o

a General Education Transcripts (GED)

o

a foreign transcript evaluated by AACRAO.



Applicants must complete Admissions Application.



Pay the $245.00 Nonrefundable Fees.

Programs

Phlebotomy Program Curriculum

Basic Phlebotomy:

This section covers the laboratory environment, anatomy,
safety and infection control, phlebotomy equipment, and the phlebotomy
procedure.


Advanced Phlebotomy:

This section covers variations influencing the collection of
blood, complications requiring alternative procedures, sources of preanalytical
errors, communication concepts, and legal issues.


Phlebotomy Externship:

This section allows the student to apply the concepts and
skills they learned in class on real patients and to become familiar with the
paperwork and record keeping adopted by the facility they are working in.
