Research Trainee in
Process Development


Baxter Medical Products has developed expertise in
Clinical Nutrition.

Within R&D, the Pharmaceutical Development team
develops and brings to market parenteral

lipid
emulsions with clinical relevance.

The Process Development group in Belgium is
responsible for developing robust manufacturing
process
es
; for documenting process validation; for
manufacturing of development, clinical or stability
batches; for evalu
ating new technologies.

Purpose of the internship:



Effectively contribute solid technical knowledge
in the field of lipid emulsions manufacturing &
control.



Display technical understanding of related
disciplines.



Conduct non
-
routine research and design

experiments.


Main activities:



Design and perform studies using innovative,
non
-
routine & appropriate techniques/methods to
manufacture lipid emulsions at Pilot
-
scale.



Demonstrate ability to apply technical theories
and principles to non
-
routine trials.



Test intermediate or final emulsions to evaluate
non
-
routine manufacturing equipment and
Process Analytic Technologies (PAT).



Identify existing alternative methods and
technologies for improving existing or new
products/processes.



Contribute to technical

feasibility analysis of
complex research and design concepts.



Contribute to deepen technical knowledge on
lipid emulsion science & process and display
understanding about process, testing,
microfluidics...

Knowledge, skills, and/or abilities
required



Possess relevant laboratory/pilot/technical,
writing, and computer skills.



Effectively able to contribute on a project team.



Demonstrates flexibility.



Ability to objectively assess, organize, and
clearly communicate complex information.



Interpret availab
le information and make
recommendations to resolve technical

challenges



Preparation of Master of Science in (Bio)
Chemical Engineering.



Languages: Fluent French + English.
